Artist and designer Stephanie Lostimolo, whose art and creations expose the numinous reality of a world we only think we understand, returns once again to FaerieCon West to share her illustrations and creations with us.
“I suppose I’ve always been a “creator.” I think we all are, but most people are forced to (or choose to) abandon their creativity in order to “fit in” or “get a real job.” Sometimes I make books, other times I build worlds, still other times I fashion things out of horns, bones, and some modern materials like resin and polymer clay.”
In addition to her own unique work, Stephanie has also worked as a graphic designer for many book projects, websites, and special events. This includes working with artists and writers such as Brian & Wendy Froud, Kinuko Craft, Ari Berk,Diana S. Zimmerman, Qntal, and J. Corsentino. She has also worked for folks like George Lucas (Stars Wars Episode III), Daniel Flannery, Iain McCaig, and currently,Michael Curry.
Stephanie is an integral member of the family that brings you Faerieworlds in Eugene, OR and the FaerieCons in Baltimore, MD and Seattle, Washington. Keep an eye out for Stephanie’s Nethersphere booth at FaerieCon, or catch her as she participates in one the many informational and creative presentations and workshops currently in development for this year!
“Today I live in Portland, Oregon, where I spend a lot of my time walking in the woods, gardening, running from bees, poking around in bookstores, hanging out with/annoying my boyfriend, grumbling about the endless rainfall, and scouring the river’s edge for agate and petrified wood. I collect cats, rocks, sticks and bones.”
