Welcome to FaerieCon West!

Now in it’s second year, FaerieCon West is the wintertime gathering of the Faerieworlds community and based on our successful premiere event last year, we are making a number of changes and and additions to make your FaerieCon experience even more fun, informative and inspiring. The FaerieCon universe continues to expand to embrace fantasy, steampunk, goth, metaphysics and many other genres who enjoy sharing their diverse interests and passions throughout the weekend.

Here are just a few exciting announcements – with many more to come in the following months:

• Guest Artists & Authors: By significant popular demand, we are happy to announce the return of international best-selling and multiple World Fantasy Award winning author and musician Charles deLint and musician Maryanne Harris, internationally acclaimed horror and fantasy artist and author, Brom, internationally celebrated faerie artist Amy Brown, New York Times Bestselling fantasy author, Julie Kagawa, fantasy artist Laurie Lee Brom, award winning Wicca authors, Raven Grimassi & Stephanie Taylor Grimassi, steampunk and fantasy author, Sibelle Stone, and many more guests to be announced!

• Amazing Bands: The FaerieCon Masquerade Balls were the definite highlight of the weekend and we have a fantastic lineup for you this year: the  amazing German pagan folk band, FAUN, will make it’s premiere performance in Seattle and the Celtic / Indian fusion band, Delhi 2 Dublin returns to deliver another foot stomping set featuring their new CD, “Turn Up The Stereo.”  Also returning after enchanting performances at Faerieworlds this summer are the mytho romantic quintet Treguenda, acclaimed singer / songwriter, SJ Tucker with her band Tricky Pixie and ghost cellist, Adam Hurst.

• More Programming  - This year, we are taking our Programming up to a new level this year, virtually DOUBLING the number the number of things you can do at FaerieCon West.

• New Workshops - This increase to our Programming gives you the opportunity to hear our FaerieCon West artists and authors discuss their creative process and their experiences as artists in the marketplace. These exciting and informative workshops will give you rare and valuable insights, methods and inspiration drawn from the personal and professional experience of these accomplished artists. And it’s FREE!

• More Faerie Academy - We are expanding one of the most popular events at our show: Faerie Academy will offer more classes that allow you to work one-on-one with our artists and authors in small groups. Please watch for the announcement of the Faerie Academy Schedule so you can sign up right away: most classes do sell out early!

• More Music - Music has always been a very important part of our shows: we are always searching the US, Canada and Europe to bring you amazing bands (many for the first time) that can be a dynamic and inspiring soundtrack for the life of any lover of faerie, fantasy and myth. This year, in addition to the Masquerade Balls, we are  expanding the music events at the show, including a very special surprise event that we will be announcing later this fall.

And this is just the beginning: we want to make 2012 the best FaerieCon West  ever  and our guests are such a wonderful and valued part of making the magic happen.  Join us in February for the amazing and fun experience that is FaerieCon!
