Ingrid Kallick is an artist and writer. Her family claims that she was abducted by fairies as a toddler, then returned home soon after. She has no recollection of the event, but sometimes hears quiet laughter in the woods when no one is in sight.
Ingrid’s subjects are influenced by dreams, the imagination, folklore, and nature. Her illustrations have appeared in Communication Arts, Spectrum Fantastic Arts Annual, Scientific American, Science, Cricket, and the Infected by Art annuals in 2015 and 2016. She received the Magazine Merit Award from the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators in 2012 and 2015, and a Medal in children’s illustration from the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles in 2015..
Her new picture book,”Two Troll Tales From Norway”, features her illustrations for two trickster folk tales that were collected in Norway in the nineteenth century. Illustrations from the book have appeared in Infected by Art, the Barcelona Book Fair, and the Miller Art Museum.
